Grass

Panicum Maximum CV. BRS Zuri

BRS Zuri is a cespitous grass species that must be handled preferably under rotational grazing. Pasture must be handled with an entrance height of 70-75 cm and exit height of 30-35 cm. This handling promoted good control of stem development and flowering in the Amazon, guaranteeing pasture structure maintenance and good levels of animal production.

It presents moderate tolerance to soil waterlogging, similar to Tanzânia-1, but develops better in well-drained soils, being an option for pasture diversification in Amazon and semitropical cerrado biomes.

Its main characteristics are:

  • High production;
  • High nutritional value;
  • Resistance to pasture leafhoppers; and
  • High degree of resistance to leaf spots caused by Bipolaris maydis fungus;
  • This technological solution was developed by Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) in partnership with other institutions.
